Josh Webster

Our longest serving 9 ambassador, Josh won his very first Kart race aged 12 then went on to become Junior European Champion within three years.  After winning titles in single-seater categories, Josh won the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship at the end of 2013, to race in 2014 & 2015 in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship.  He went on to break multiple records including being the youngest driver to win the Championship, which he achieved in his first year.
Josh has now moved up to race in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Championship, the fastest single-make series in the world, a support race to Formula 1.

A lasting relationship

A lasting relationship

Josh is the son of 9’s Acquisitions Director, Nick Webster.  Partners have frequently joined Nick to watch Josh race at Silverstone and various other circuits around the world.  Josh is 9’s original brand ambassador and we are delighted to have been a key supporter throughout his flourishing career.  Josh retains a close relationship with our business and we were especially proud of his efforts during the Covid-19 crisis when he swapped the wheel so his Porsche for te more humble performance of a Tesco home delivery van.  You can read more about that adventure here.

Every Little Helps

Staff at Silverstone supporting Josh

As part of Josh’s commitment to 9 as a brand ambassador partners have been to watch him live in action on many occasions. Most recently, partners were invited to enjoy full hospitality at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, as part of an eve and mobile incentive. There will be many more events coming up, so if you’d love to see Josh race, make us aware of your interest!

From his first Kart race in 2006, Josh has come a long way, now racing in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Championship.  Josh is a professional racing driver and British Racing Drivers’ Club member. His love of racing started when he was a child upon deciding that football, rugby or any conventional sports weren’t for him.

What a feeling to cross the line as the winners!

After three years Karting and four years in junior single seater championships, Josh topped the podium as the 2014 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion.  It was celebrated as an amazing debut season for the Suffolk racer, in his first year as the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholar, becoming the youngest ever winner of the Championship.

More recently in 2019, Josh set out to secure second place in the Championship at Brands Hatch  and he reached his goal.

Even the reliably rainy British weather didn’t interfere with Josh’s dedication to secure his spot on the podium. Congratulations Josh!
