Brand Ambassadors update28.08.2019
We’ve been working with our incredible brand ambassadors for a while now and with Tokyo 2020 just under a year away, we want to update you on what they’ve been up to, what they’re working towards and our partnership with them.
Maddie has just returned from training in Tokyo in preparation for the Olympics which is just under a year away! She returned to the National team earlier this year.
Over the past year, Maddie has featured in Comms Dealer (Click here), presented at the Comms National Awards and successfully completed a photoshoot with 9 in Holland.
Next up for Maddie is the European Championships starting this Sunday, where the winner will be the only team to pre-qualify for the Olympics. If GB doesn’t win then we will face a final 2 legged qualification match in November.
We may even spot her in the Marketing department soon, as Maddie would love to work in Marketing once she retires in the future!
Josh took a last-minute signing with Team Parker Racing to compete in the Porsche Carerra Cup. He recently raced at the Great British Grand Prix in Silverstone, where staff and customers had the opportunity to meet Josh and see him race!
Josh will continue to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup throughout the rest of the season, finishing in October. This brings great opportunities for us to take Partners and customers along to.
We’ll also be seeing Josh before the end of the year at our HQ, where he’ll be visiting to see everyone, talk through his year and what’s next.
This has been a great year for Becky and Ellie, with Becky returning from injury and training towards upcoming competitions, including Tokyo 2020. Whilst Ellie recently became the European AA silver medalist in April!
Alongside training, they are also both still building their successful leotard business, Double Downies as well as their experience days.
Becky and Ellie Downie are currently training incredibly hard for the upcoming World Championships in Stuttgart on the 3-14th October. They are both also training for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where Ellie has just returned from training.
After successful Q&A sessions with staff at the Hub and our Luton office, we have plans for something similar towards the end of the year.
Gordon is currently in Tokyo, preparing for the 2020 Paralympic games. Athletes use this time to climatise and familiarise themselves with the surroundings and environment before the games start.
A few of the team recently went to watch Gordon play at the British Open in Nottingham where we saw him and his doubles partner, Alfie Hewitt battle to the finals in 36 degree heat for over 4 hours – a pretty impressive win!
Gordon will be joining 9 at the Comms National Awards where he will be conducting an on-stage interview in front of around 650 guests. Talking through his successful 2019 so far, how he deals with adversity and of course, the upcoming Tokyo 2020.
