Tokyo here we come!

Great Britain’s women’s hockey team has secured its place at Tokyo 2020, following a victory against Chile at Lee Valley. The final score came to 5-1 on aggregate win for Great Britain.

Our brand ambassador, Maddie Hinch MBE, is the goalkeeper on the squad and is famous for her heroic performance at the Rio Olympics, where her penalty saving helped the team to bring home Gold medals.

The game against Chile was dominated by GB, with the opposition nearly pulling a goal back in the second quarter, but due to the ball not having travelled five metres before entering the circle, it was ruled out by the umpire. Great Britain did have the edge, outperforming Chile throughout the matches by demonstrating phenomenal teamwork.

The team is now determined to grow and improve together as a team ahead of the Olympics in eight months’ time. Watch this space!
